Summary: Our client is a software innovative trading operations solution provider for participants in the physical electricity markets. They are seeking a driven junior level accountant, CPA certified to join the team in Lisle, IL.
Ideal Candidate: Driven junior level accountant, CPA certified or CPA Candidate a must to join the team in Lisle, IL. 2 years of public accounting, general ledger accounts by reconciling accounts receivable detail and control accounts; adjusting entries for amortizations prepaid; analyzing and reconciling retain age and accounts payable ledgers; preparing fixed asset depreciation and accruals. Strong systems skills a plus (Excel) (accounting systems, etc.)
As the junior accountant, you will provide financial information by maintaining and reconciling
- Maintains financial records by analyzing balance sheets and general ledger accounts.
- Reconciles general and subsidiary bank accounts by gathering and balancing information.
- Provides financial status information by preparing special reports; completing special projects.
- Corrects errors by posting adjusting journal entries.
- Maintains general ledger accounts by reconciling accounts receivable detail and control accounts; adjusting entries for amortizations prepaid; analyzing and reconciling retain age and accounts payable ledgers; preparing fixed asset depreciation and accruals.
- Secures financial information by completing database backups; keeping information confidential.
- Maintains accounting controls by following policies and procedures; complying with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications.
- Accomplishes accounting and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
- Planning, executing and leading audit engagements
- Preparing tax returns for both individuals and small businesses
- Maintaining client relationships
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting / Finance required
- 2 years of public accounting, experience preferred
- Strong systems skills a plus (Excel) (accounting systems, etc.)
- CPA or CPA candidates a Must
